Java Emulator Frontend

A Java frontend for managing and launching console emulators, with a media-rich library, per-console themes and tools for keeping a game collection organised.

Java / Desktop / Emulation / APIs

A desktop project started in 2011

This Java frontend brings console emulators and PC games into a single library. Each console can have its own appearance, configured through GUI settings or CSS, with control over ordering, backgrounds and emulator command-line arguments.

Artwork, media and metadata

The project included cover-art and logo downloads, local and online video trailers, manuals from replacementdocs, and completion times from HowLongToBeat. Image tools provided cropping, colour-to-alpha and selective black/white inversion so artwork could fit the chosen theme. External integrations described here reflect the project's functionality at the time, rather than a claim that every service still works today.

Managing a collection

Features included played-time tracking, Steam playtime and achievement synchronisation, a built-in achievement creator, playlists and genre filtering. It also offered PS1 and PS2 memory-card editing, screenshots and galleries, missing-artwork lists and moving game collections between drives.
